IS IT SAFE OF THE M14x1.50 SPLINE LUG NUT?

Many car wheel screw holes are small holes, only a small diameter sleeve can be inserted into the hub hole, for loading and unloading.

Most customers will choose tuner nuts and spline nuts to fit the small hole hub.

Because tuner nuts are open end and easy to rust, more and more people prefer spline nuts.

According to size of spline,spline nuts can be divided into:

1、Small spline lug nut 

2、Big spline lug nut

If the thread is 12x1.50,12x1.25,1/2”-20 or 7/16”-20,all is safe。

But,When the thread is 14x1.50,14x2.0  or  9/16”-18,choose carefully。

Small spline lug nut

The diameter of the pattern groove is only 15.5mm.

If the thread is M12x1.50,M12x1.25,7/16"-20,1/2"-20,the pattern groove wall thickness is1.75mm,it is safe.

If the thread is M14X1.50,M14X1.25,M14X2.0,the wall thickness of the pattern groove is only 0.75mm,it is too thin,this is not safe and can be easily twisted.

Big spline lug nut

The diameter of the pattern groove is 16.4mm.

If the thread is M14x1.50,M14x1.25,M14x2.0, the wall thickness of the pattern groove is 1.2mm thick,so it is safe.

If you want 14x1.50, 14x1.25,14x2.0, 9/16"-18,I recommend the big spline lug nut.

Of course, if you insist on making smal spline lug nut  into threads 14x1.50,14x1.25,14x2.0, we can also do it, but it must be heat treated, and it must not be used with pneumatic or electric wrench loading and unloading.Still, it is not as strong as big spline lug nuts.So choose carefully.
